Katy has abandoned and ignored the residents of District Five

Violent crime, home invasions, dangerous homeless encampments, and urban blight have significantly worsened during Katy’s tenure. Not only has she failed to deliver any effective solutions to these problems, she’s voted against enforcement of Ordinance 41.18 no camping zones, and has pushed to reallocate into a discretionary fund monies specially earmarked for homelessness policing. Dishonest and dismissive of her constituents, it’s time for all of us to rise up and recall her. For the safety of our children and quality of life in our neighborhoods, help us recall Katy now.

Katy is a dishonest fraud who is potentially implicated in an ethics investigation

By changing her last name and moving into the district right before the election, calling herself a “renter” despite being a homeowner and landlord, and lying about her background as a City Hall lobbyist for real-estate developers, Katy gained her seat through deceit and dishonesty. Now, her office is under investigation by the Los Angeles City Ethics Commission for multiple ethics violations related to the Midvale-Pico homeless project. As a consummate insider and creature of the City Hall machine, she cannot be trusted.

Katy is a hypocrite who endangers families and children

As a candidate, Katy promised the families of District Five that she would enforce Ordinance 41.18, which bans dangerous homeless encampments next to schools, daycare centers, and other sensitive areas. Yet, once elected, Katy has repeatedly voted against the enforcement of Ordinance 41.18 throughout Los Angeles and has even attempted to water down and potentially repeal Ordinance 41.18. All this, despite the fact that the U.S. Supreme Court recently upheld its legality and Governor Newsom recently called on all cities to enforce its provisions. Unbelievably, after several violent incidents, Katy recently promised in writing to enforce Ordinance 41.18 next to her own children’s school. She embodies the very definition of hypocrisy!

Katy is aloof and dismissive of her constituents and their concerns

Katy is an absentee Council Member who is missing in action. She has repeatedly demonstrated an unwillingness to engage with constituents who have concerns. She and her staff ignore written complaints, requests for help, and meeting invitations. She is nowhere to be found in the community. Katy has forgotten that she works for the people of District Five, not City Hall insiders and large donors.

Katy is an ineffective leader

Crime, homelessness, decay, and blight have increased during her tenure, yet she’s failed to articulate any sensible set of policies to combat these problems.
